BMW refers to the X2 as a Sports Activity Coupe, essentially a more rakish version of the popular X1 SUV aimed at those who are less likely to prioritise outright practicality, although it does remain a five-door. Four trim levels are available, starting with the SE (a comfortable all-rounder) and ascending through Sport, M Sport and M Sport X, the latter being the sportiest and best equipped. D espite sharing many components with the X1, such as a chassis, the X2 is quite a bit different and features a more aggressive design. Fortunately, although that shapely roof puts the squeeze on rear headroom, the X2 will accommodate a young family almost as easily as the X1.
